Biography

Wind Energy Research Fellow at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory.

With innovation and a nose for funding, Robert Thresher helped develop a wind energy program at Oregon State and as an OSU professor; he worked with the Department of Energy to develop early modern wind technologies.

Robert left Oregon State to become a principal scientist at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory with technical oversight of a program to prove the ability to predict performance and loads for wind turbines and the effects of atmospheric turbulence.

Robert has received the Pioneer Award at the World Renewable Energy Congress, and a Lifetime Achievement Award from the American Wind Energy Society. He is currently researching wave technology and ocean energy systems.
